Saab 9-3 SpotSedan

  • Five stars Top rating in the European New Car Assessment Program (EuroNCAP) crash tests – adult occupancy rating. 
  • Maximum rating: Good Saab 9-3 SportSedan and SportCombi. For Saab Active Head Restraints (SAHR) in Thatcham insurance research centre crash tests. 
  • Maximum rating: Green+ Saab 9-3 SportSedan. For Saab Active Head Restraints (SAHR) in Swedish Insurance Company Folksam’s crash tests (2003). 
  • Top Safety Pick Award Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan. Top rating in the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) front, side and rear crash tests (2007).

Saab 9-3 Convertible

  • Maximum rating: Good – Saab 9-3 Convertible. For Saab Active Head Restraints (SAHR) In Britain’s Thatcham insurance research Centre crash tests. 
  • Five stars – Saab 9-3 Convertible. Top rating in the European New Car Assessment Program (EuroNCAP) crash tests. 
  • Top Safety Pick Award – Saab 9-3 Convertible. Top rating in the US Insurance for Highway Safety (IIHS) front, side and rear crash tests, including seat/head restraint protection, roll-over pop-up bars and the vehicle’s electronic stability control (2007).

Saab 9-5 

  • “Safest car in Sweden” – Saab 9-5. Ranked more than 30 per cent better than the average car in the Swedish Insurance Company Folksam report “How Safe is your Car?” (2005). 
  • Best in its class – Saab 9-5 Sedan. Ranked 42 per cent better than the average car in the US Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) study (2006). 
  • Maximum rating: Good – Saab 9-5. For Saab Active Head Restraints (SAHR) in Britain’s Thatcham insurance research centre crash tests.
